Pizzano Contractors Celebrates 2025 Awards

AIA and NAIOP awards highlight craftsmanship, lasting impact on built environment in D.C. Metro area

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (December 2, 2025) – Pizzano Contractors proudly closes out the fourth quarter of 2025 on a high note, celebrating multiple regional and industry awards that recognize the company’s commitment to quality, collaboration, and craftsmanship across a range of project types.

This past quarter, four standout Pizano projects were honored by leading design and real estate awards:

Rosewood Townhomes – AIA Potomac Valley 2025 Commendation Design Award

Pizzano supported The Rosewood Hotel in expanding its boutique hospitality portfolio by converting two historic 1890s Georgetown townhouses into high-end luxury suites. Designed by Winstanley Architects and Planners, Rosewood Townhomes was recognized for its thoughtful design. The project involved navigating complex challenges, including the restoration of an eight-foot retaining wall, integrating new utility systems into 130-year-old structures, and collaborating closely with local preservation authorities to ensure the use of historically accurate materials and colors. The Campagna Center – AIA Northern Virginia 2025 Award of Merit in Historic Architecture

Located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, The Campagna Center’s recent renovation and restoration earned recognition for excellence in historic preservation. The center’s historic roots date back to 1785, when it was established as the Washington Free School – an institution partially funded by George Washington to educate orphans and children in need. Pizzano was selected as the contractor for the renovation of the iconic building with support from Winstanley Architects & Planners. The team collaborated to transform the building into a modern facility while intentionally preserving its historic character. The new facility continues to support the community through The Campagna Center’s mission to provide education, after-school programs, mentoring, and other support services for children, teens, and adults. The Elliott – NAIOP DC | MD 2025 Multifamily Award of Excellence

Pizzano led the work on a newly completed ground-up build in the heart of historic Georgetown – The Elliott, a collection of five luxury condominiums. The Pizzano team guided the project from land acquisition through final sales, ensuring a seamless delivery at every phase. No expense was spared when it came to the finishes, including exquisite French oak floors and crafted custom lacquered cabinetry imported from Italy. With Emotive Architecture as Architect of Record, the project’s sophisticated design and execution reflect Pizzano’s commitment to high-quality multifamily construction. Link to project.

Tierra Encantada – NAIOP Northern Virginia 2025 Adaptive Reuse Award of Excellence

Pizzano transformed a vacant Staples retail store into a state-of-the-art early education and childcare facility, breathing new life into the underutilized space. The project was completed in close collaboration with Jarmel Kizel Architects and Engineers, Inc., delivering a facility that reflects Tierra Encantada’s commitment to nurturing children while supporting families and strengthening the surrounding community. The design strategy emphasized safety, accessibility, and durability, while creating a warm, engaging environment for children and their families. The recognition further showcases Pizzano’s broad project portfolio and ability to deliver high-quality results across various built environments, demonstrating the team’s versatility. “These recognitions are a testament to the dedication of our team and our design and development partners,” said Bob Pizzano Jr., President of Pizzano Contractors. “Each project demonstrates what’s possible when exceptional collaboration, craftsmanship, and community impact come together. We’re incredibly proud of what these achievements represent, and as we look ahead, we’re excited to continue delivering thoughtful, high-quality projects that elevate the communities we serve and build on the legacy we’ve worked hard to create.”

Following these awards, Pizzano also recently secured the contract for the full interior renovation and remodeling of 555 4th Street in Judiciary Square. The 331,000‑square‑foot, 13‑story project represents one of the largest undertakings in the company’s history. Pizzano will lead the effort in collaboration with the project architect, Gensler, transforming the building – owned by NSP Ventures Corp. and managed by J Street Companies – into a state-of-the-art federal workspace.
