Robert Pizzano Sr. is an amazing man.
After serving his country in the military in the 1950’s, Bob began embarking on the American Dream. He started Pizzano Contractors as a small glass subcontractor and quickly expanded his field of expertise, so that his firm was the premier law firm construction contractor in the Washington, DC area.
While he no longer takes an active role in the management of Pizzano Contractors, he is very active in day-to-day construction, imparting the knowledge, wisdom, and skills he has learned over the past 50 years plus to the next generation of craftsmen, supervisors, project managers, all to the benefit of the clients of Pizzano Contractors.
Utilizing over 25 years experience, Bob coordinates all aspects of field operations with notorious Pizzano hands-on approach. Bob began working with Pizzano Contractors as a child. His on-site experience gives him the unique perspective to see not only the overall scope of a project, but also the in-the-field intricacies required for successful and timely completion of projects. Because Bob was brought up in the construction industry, his knowledgeable expertise extends to every aspect of a project.
Bob has been employed full time with Pizzano Contractors since his graduation from the University of South Florida with a B.S. in Construction Management. He has overseen the successful completion of millions of square feet of office space for satisfied clients.
Pete Sainvilier is one of the longest tenured Pizzano Contractors employees, having started with Pizzano in 1982. He handles all aspects of the construction process, including meeting with clients, preparing proposals, scheduling job sites, carpentry work and all other phases of the operation. Pete has an accounting background as is currently pursuing a degree in Christian Counseling from Lancaster Bible College.
Frank coordinates entire projects from preliminary estimates to project completion.
Frank brings over 35 years experience in commercial construction with experience ranging from tenant renovations to new building construction. He has been responsible for projects ranging in size up to 50 million dollars. Frank graduated from the University of Pittsburgh.
Frank has been involved in a variety of projects at Pizzano Contractors including the General Dynamics AAAV project in Woodbridge, General Dynamics Fairlakes, ManTech Test Systems, Sparta Inc., Simplex Grinnell, Fairfax Station Railway Museum, DOS-OIG, NOVA Endo, FinCen, DEA Expansion, National Art Strategies, and Promontory Financial Group.
Jake is a Project Manager at Pizzano Contractors, and serves as a liaison between Pizzano Contractors and their clients, and the architects, owners, and subcontractors.
Prior to joining Pizzano Contractors, Jake was a Vice President for a national commercial real estate company in Northern Virginia, and was primarily active in Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Maryland, holding licenses in all three jurisdictions. Jake represented national and local office, warehouse and retail users in their lease requirements, and represented local and institutional landlords in the marketing and leasing of their projects. With 20 years of experience in the commercial real industry with expertise ranging from commercial real estate market research, commercial tenant representation and agency leasing, Jake brings a unique perspective to clients of Pizzano Contractors.
Jake graduated from the University of Virginia, and completed graduate level coursework. In addition, he holds a LEED ® accreditation.
Jake was a board member of Greater Washington Commercial Association of Realtors (“GWCAR”), serving as Chair of the Northern Virginia group.
Scott coordinates entire projects from preliminary estimates to project completion.
Scott is a graduate of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. Prior to coming to work with Pizzano Contractors in January 2006, Scott worked as a project manager for five years in the Mechanical arena. He has been responsible for projects ranging in size over 2 million dollars.
Scott has been involved in a variety of projects at Pizzano Contractors including Adagio Ballet, APUS (American Public University System), Metier Inc., Lerner Corporation @ Washington Square, Northwest Airlines, Northwest Federal Credit Union, Northwest Financial, Rochester Big & Tall, Rosslyn Business Improvement Corporation, and a variety of First Potomac Management LLC projects.
Lisa Paul has been with Pizzano Contractors since 1983, and has been involved in nearly every phase of the construction process, including permit expediting, job staffing and scheduling, contract and billing administration, accounts payable and more.
Today, she is involved in ensuring the smooth operation of the office, and in addition to the skills outlined above, she provides accounting and office management to the office.
Kelsey supports project managers and field superintendents with administrative concerns to ensure proper project information flow.
Prior to joining the family business in September of 2008, Kelsey worked as a permit expediter handling projects throughout the Washington metropolitan area. Beginning at this principle level taught her the importance of coordinating efforts to get things done. This knowledge has served her well in her new role.
Will Pizzano represents the 3rd generation of Pizzano Contractors, along with Kelsey Paul. Will worked with the family business from a young age both as a laborer and as a superintendent. More recently, Will worked as a client advisor at BMW of Fairfax, the number one BMW dealership in the DC metropolitan area. His hands-on experiences in the construction field as well as his interpersonal experiences in the automotive industry serve him well to integrate operations in the field with clients’ needs to ensure all are satisfied beyond expectations.
As an Assistant Project Manager, Will supports Project Managers by coordinating on-site construction, accommodating clients’ needs, and assisting in the estimating and bidding process.
Kelly has moved back to Northern Virginia from Roanoke where she worked at Altus Group, Inc., a local construction and property management company where she performed work as an Office Manager. Her role there assumed many hats from office management, as the title suggests, to bookkeeping of many different entities, her primary role with Pizzano Contractors. The background she learned with the accounting system Sage Timberline and construction lingo is helping her to stay on top of the bookkeeping duties. She is primarily responsible for managing the accounting functions of the business which include, but are not limited to:
